Since I haven’t organized the myriad of photos I took in Europe this year, I thought it would be good to continue my work where I last left off in the late summer of 2005.
The Gaebler Children’s Center was small but interesting in its history and purpose of caring for children with psychiatric problems, as opposed to the more comon state developmental centers that cared for young people. The darkness inside made photo taking difficult.
The Ladd School was similarly creepy as it was pitch black in most parts, and covered in mold as well. A few relics from its past were still found inside the hollow shells of a few buildings.
A small roadside attraction made its way here – The Hartford Drive-In, which has been demolished since.
